Installing an Era whiteboard.

A six-step overview, plus the full install PDF. Designed for a careful, two-person install on the larger sizes.

Before you start

Tools, walls, and what is in the carton.

Era ships with the magnetic brackets, the pen-shelf bracket, the L-bracket, packers (2 mm and 5 mm), a J-hook, and 8 plaster screws with wall plugs. The brackets are designed for plasterboard or masonry — fasteners are supplied for plasterboard; for masonry, swap to appropriate plugs.

The 1200 × 1800 mm and 1200 × 2400 mm sizes are a two-person lift. Mark the wall, level the brackets, and the board takes care of itself.

The six-step overview

How Era goes on the wall.

01

Check the wall

Confirm the wall is flat and plumb. Use the supplied 2 mm and 5 mm packers to compensate where it is not.

02

Mark the position

Mark the bottom edge and the four corners of the board’s footprint on the wall.

03

Mount the pen-shelf bracket

Fix the magnetic bracket with integrated pen shelf level along the bottom edge.

04

Mount the L-bracket

Fix the magnetic L-bracket at the other end of the bottom edge, level with the pen-shelf bracket.

05

Mount the top brackets

Fix the two low-profile magnetic brackets at the top corners, plumb above the bottom brackets.

06

Place the board

Lift the board onto the brackets — the magnets click it into position. Add the optional J-hook for mechanical retention.

Hidden magnetic mounts

Why Era uses hidden magnetic fixings.

Hidden magnetic fixings let the board lift effortlessly from the wall. That means a clean line at the edge, no visible brackets, and the option to flip the board mid-meeting without dismounting it.

The brackets locate themselves on the steel inside the board’s aluminium core. The result is a clean, premium fit — and a piece of cabinet-grade engineering nobody sees.

Troubleshooting

Common installation questions.

Use the supplied 2 mm and 5 mm packers behind the brackets to compensate. The brackets need to sit on the same plane — the board itself is rigid and unforgiving of a twisted bracket line.

Confirm the brackets are level with each other across the top, and across the bottom. If one bracket is fixed slightly off, the board will telegraph that gap. Re-shim with packers and re-mount.

Check the bracket orientation. The magnets are polarised — flipping a bracket will reverse the field and feel weak. The supplied bracket has a marked top face; install with the marked face up.

The smaller sizes (400 × 600 to 900 × 1200) are a sensible one-person install. The 1200 × 1500 and above are a two-person lift. If you are mounting in a finished space, ask your retailer about an installer.
